Experience Overview
Awaken with the lake at 5:30 AM when the waters of Loktak mirror pastel dawn hues. Board handcrafted wooden canoes piloted by local fishermen to gently navigate between labyrinthine phumdis. Learn how circular floating biomass rings (athaphum) trap fish organically, and disembark onto a floating hut where your host family serves steaming smoked fish, sticky Chak-hao rice snacks, and wild ginger tea.

Meeting at Sendra Jetty & Safety Briefing
Meet host Tomba, receive life vests, and board traditional dugout canoes.
Canoeing through Athaphum Ring Islands
Glide silently through the waterways while migratory teals and herons take flight.
Disembark onto a Traditional Floating Phumsang
Step onto the spongy, floating organic mattress. Understand how families live and fish sustainably.
Traditional Fishermen Breakfast & Tea
Fresh smoked lake fish or vegetarian Singju herb salad, sticky rice delicacies, and warm tea.
Return to Sendra Jetty
Peaceful return paddle with stunning sunlit views of Sendra hill.
